Navigation & Transportation in Zurich
Zurich’s public transportation network is fast and frequent. We recommend using 24-hour ZVV tickets. For conference days in the city, buy a zone 110 ticket (Zurich city). On the days you travel to or from the airport, include zone 121 (i.e., ticket covering zones 110 + 121). Tickets are available in the ZVV or SBB Mobile apps and at all station machines. Direct trains run between Zurich Airport and Zurich HB (main station) in about 10–15 minutes. From Zurich HB, you can either walk to the venue in about 15–20 minutes, or take tram line 6 or 10, which takes approximately 5–7 minutes.

Visiting Zurich
Zurich is Switzerland’s largest city (the capital is Bern) and feels especially magical in December. The Old Town and central squares host multiple Christmas markets, including the cozy lanes of Niederdorf, the open-air village by the opera house at Sechseläutenplatz, and the indoor Christkindlimarkt at Zurich Main Station with its famous Christmas tree. Festive lights sparkle along Bahnhofstrasse, choirs perform at the “singing Christmas tree,” and seasonal pop-ups serve fondue, raclette, and hot mulled wine. Ice-skating rinks and winter viewpoints like Uetliberg add to the atmosphere, while museums, galleries, the opera, and the Tonhalle offer plenty of warm indoor culture.
